The Port Ambrose Project is proposed just 19 miles off the coast of Long Beach, Long Island. It would be an explosion and pollution threat to Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island coastal communities; pose significant risks to the ocean ecosystems and all activities related to them;  increase global warming;  and impede the prospect of offshore wind energy development in the same location. 

Big Oil and Gas wants to construct the Constitution pipeline through our state to carry fracked gas from PA to the highest paying markets. If built this pipeline will destroy acres of forests, clear cut over 700,000 trees, and cross over 277 waterways. TAKE ACTION to stop it!

On July 16 Governor Cuomo and his Public Service Commission (PSC) announced a new program—shared renewables—to allow millions more New Yorkers to participate in the transition to clean, renewable energy. Thank the Governor for supporting shared renewables today!

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the agency that approves interstate gas pipelines, will be holding hearings Thursday, July 16th in Oneonta and Schoharie on a request by the Houston-based Kinder Morgan Corporation - the fourth largest energy company in America - to build another gas pipeline in our state.

Breaking news! The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has completed all the review steps, and high-volume hydraulic fracturing is now banned in New York State. The ban was made official with today's release of the state's Final Findings Statement (FFS).

Fracking 2.0 -- Oil Transport A Disaster Waiting to Happen

Last week’s news reports said that the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) had made a stunning reversal by rescinding its previous approval of a permit to Global Partners to build a boiler to heat heavytar sands at their oil processing facility at the Port of Albany. Addressing this issue was a significant step for the NYSDEC and we thank them for doing the right thing and getting this process started. But the devil is in the details.
