Informed and low-impact visitorship to the Catskill Park is critical to the health and sustainable of our natural environment. Thanks to a grant supported by Senator Hinchey, in 2024 we welcomed four summer stewards to the team. Each year, Catskill Mountainkeeper Stewards engage with visitors on how to responsibly enjoy the Park and respect our natural world. They teach visitors about how to reduce their impact, including leave no trace, and provide wilderness first aid to injured or sick individuals. They’ve been out on the trails, greeting visitors at some of the most beautiful spots in our region. If you see them on the trails, say hi!
