The Conference topic this year will be "Small but Grand Hotels! The Backbone of the Catskills Tourism Economy."
Speakers include: Sullivan County Historian and author, John Conway; retired art history professor and author, Irwin Richman; journalist and author, Barry Lewis; Marvin Rappaport; Allen Frishman; Ken Schmitt; Sharon Green, Myron Gittel; and Architects Victor Dadras and Robert Dadras.
There are two special pre-conference events taking place on Saturday, August 22, 2015, from 1pm- 4pm.
At 1:00pm a walking tour, titled “The other side of the historic hotel town of Ferndale” with Maurice Gerry, and at 3:00pm, a guided tour with exhibit curator Myron Gittel of the Sullivan County Historical Society’s “Concord exhibit.”
Both the Conference and the Tours will explore the history, the architecture, and the future of the great Catskills resorts.
Cost is $35.00 for Conference Registration, $20.00 for the Walking Tour, or $ 45.00 for both, including breakfast and lunch on Sunday. The events are free for all Liberty Museum & Arts Center members. The Saturday exhibit tour at the Sullivan County Museum is free, but donations are suggested.
