Don't Dump on Saugerties--Call on DEC to close down the Dump!

Introduction

A site used by a trucking business in Saugerties has turned into a construction and demolition dump, raising environmental and community concerns. This dump, located on Route 212, Fel Qui Rd, and Goat Hill Rd, has been cited for environmental violations and was issued a stop-work order earlier this year by the Town of Saugerties based on its questionable operations.

Catskill Mountainkeeper is calling on the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to do everything in its power to shut the dump down. We need swift action to protect our community and our environment. Our petition will be delivered to DEC Commissioner Seggos and Regional Director Turturro. Please sign and share with friends!

Petition

Dear Commissioner Seggos and Regional Director Turturro,

We the concerned residents of Saugerties, New York call on the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to take swift action to stop unpermitted dumping operations at Route 212, 90 Goat Hill Road, and 33 and 43 Fel Qui Road. Dumping operations have left tens of thousands of cubic yards of construction and demolition debris in the forests of Saugerties and is continuing unabated, putting our natural environment and community at risk.
