A WATERSHED MOMENT: A DOUBLE HEADER OF HOME RUNS!

In the two months since we discretely launched our SAVE THE NATURE OF THE CATSKILLS campaign, we stemmed the tide of inappropriate land use law by amplifying citizen concerns in a cohesive and comprehensive way. We organized and aligned their efforts across town boundaries. We also armed them with law and science to offer eloquent, effective and impactful comments. 

At back-to-back public hearings held on March 3 and 4 in the Towns of Liberty and Fallsburg, respectively, we amassed record-breaking 400+person attendance with standing room only, from 9th generation farmers to recent NYC transplants, from school kids to seniors. Community members came out to voice their concerns about bad zoning laws and it worked! The hearings will now be kept open, more consideration will be given to noted concerns, and CMK has secured its place at the table, being identified as instrumental to assist in better land use planning in both Towns.
