We need a couple minutes of your time today. As you know, we’re stronger together, and right now, we are helping to do a final push to get signatures on our People’s Commissioner petition – where numbers count! The signatures are being delivered to Governor Cuomo on Thursday, April 20th. Our goal is 1000, but we would love to go above and beyond that number.
A little background: The Public Service Commission (PSC) can play a critical role in ensuring the many benefits of clean, renewable energy systems are accessible to communities most impacted by climate change and energy burdens.
Currently, three of the five seats on this powerful commission are sitting vacant, and so this letter is urging the Governor to take advantage of the opportunity presented by vacancies to appoint “People’s Commissioners” committed to energy democracy and to serving the interests of the people and environment of New York State.

The EDA is also running a social media campaign. They ask that you make a sign urging the Governor to appoint a People’s Commissioner. Then have someone take a photo of you holding the sign, and email the photo to us or post it on our Facebook page. The following is a sample message that others have used; feel free to rework it to express your thoughts. The photo campaign ends this week – same as the petition - so don't delay!
