April 26 is looming large.

That’s the deadline Governor Cuomo has to act to kill the Constitution Pipeline -- or else New York State will waive its right to stop this disastrous, climate-wrecking project.

All the Governor and his Department of Environmental Conservation need to do is deny the pipeline a water quality certification.

But to make that happen we need to raise a huge outcry before April 26. Are you in?

Please make your own opposition felt in Albany right now. Tell Governor Cuomo not to wait a minute longer to reject this fossil fuel monstrosity.

In the meantime, Catskill Mountainkeeper will be counting down to April 26 on Facebook -- urging all New Yorkers to make their voices heard and spread the word far and wide on social media.

The Constitution Pipeline will cut a swath of destruction across New York State – taking down 700,000 trees, destroying more than 1,000 acres of forest and farmlands, threatening 277 vulnerable waterways, and placing countless communities in harm’s way.

Who benefits? Williams Company and Cabot Oil & Gas. They’ll ship fracked gas from Pennsylvania through New York to those markets where they can reap the biggest profits, including overseas. Simply put, the energy companies will win big time; the rest of us will get stuck with the unthinkable damage.

It’s hardly surprising that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission -- which has never seen an interstate fossil fuel pipeline it didn’t like -- has conditionally approved this dirty fuel deal.

But Governor Cuomo still has the power to terminate it -- if he acts by April 26.

Tell Governor Cuomo that our forests, streams, communities and climate are way more important than one company’s profits!
