Building on Stone: The Past, Present, and Future
Building on the original designs of the famous and controversial architect, Edward Durrell Stone, we will celebrate his past vision, our present sustainability initiatives and our future goal of a carbon neutral campus.
Schedule of Events:
9:00 am - Exhibits and Marketplace open in the D, E, and F Lobbies
9:30 am – Sustainability Tour (composting area, community garden, geo-thermal, wind, solar, and more) Meet in E Lobby
10:00 am – Keynote Speakers in the Seelig Theatre
Mary Anne Hunting, Edward Durell Stone Biographer – The Past
Jennifer Grossman, Conservation Consultant – The Present
Dr. Karin Hilgersom, SUNY Sullivan President – The Future
11:00 am–12:00 pm – SUNY Sullivan Solar Garden Power Up Ceremony – Seelig Theatre
12:00 pm–1:00 pm and Repeating from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm – The Short Films Question Power and Catskill Park will be shown in the Seelig Theatre, followed by Q&A with Larry Reeger (SUNY Sullivan) and Brian Sullivan (Catskill Mountainkeeper)
1:00 pm-2:00 pm – SUNY Sullivan Campus Architectural Tour with Mary Anne Hunting – Meet in E Lobby
2:00 pm-3:00 pm – Sustainability Tour and Trail Hike with Morgan Outdoors (weather permitting) - Meet in E Lobby
3:30 pm - Sustainability Tour (composting area, community garden, geo-thermal, wind, solar, and more) - Meet in E Lobby
4:00 pm – Exhibits and Marketplace close
