A difficult year on all fronts, 2021 also presented us with an abundance of new and ongoing threats to our local environment and the global climate. In the face of these daunting challenges, Mountainkeeper was heartened to see people responding with inspiring actions, optimism, and dedication to overcoming these hurdles to ensure a healthier future for our planet. It’s critical that we keep this great momentum going, and Mountainkeeper is determined to work with our allies and supporters in 2022 to build on our progress and tackle even more issues threatening the Catskills and beyond.
To set the stage for this work in the coming year, Mountainkeeper is hosting a ‘Challenges and Opportunities’ webinar on February 15th from 6:15pm to 7:15pm as part of Catskill Park Day. Panelists featured for this discussion will include:
- Senator Michelle Hinchey
- Katie Petronis, Department of Environmental Conservation
- Assemblymember Aileen Gunther
- Assemblymember Kevin Cahill
- Assemblymember Chris Tague
- Assemblymember Brian Miller; and
- Jeff Senterman, Catskill Center
This will be a great opportunity to hear directly from key decision makers and Mountainkeeper allies about how best to tackle pressing environmental challenges in the Catskills, and come together on ways to protect and improve this special part of the world. We will dedicate time at the end of the discussion for a Q&A with attendees, so please bring your questions!
This webinar is free and open to the public, but you must register here to receive a Zoom link.
This webinar will be closed-captioned for greater accessibility.
