Catskill Mountainkeeper's Save the Pollinators panel series continues, this time with local and national experts on bees, butterflies, and the toxic pesticides threatening these critically important pollinators.
This event is free, but you must register by noon on May 6 to receive your Zoom webinar link.
Our panel of experts will discuss the devastating effects these pesticides have on pollinators, ecosystems, and human health, and discuss strategies for protecting pollinators--including a bill before the New York State Legislature called the Birds and Bees Protection Act, which proposes a 5-year moratorium on neonics while the state studies their impacts.
Our panel includes:
- Daniel Raichel--an NRDC attorney and pollinator expert whose work focuses on protecting bees and pollinator populations from the use of bee-toxic pesticides.
- Wes Gillingham-- Mountainkeeper's Associate Director and a long-time organic farmer here in the Catskills whose experience farming and fighting toxic pesticides helps to support our Catskill communities.
- Maraleen Manos Jones-- Author, Spirit of the Butterflies, Pollinator Activist
