Nuclear Power

When people say that nuclear power is the answer for our energy future, they qualify it by saying that they are for “safe nuclear power”.  Sadly, there is no such thing.  As we have seen from the Fukushima reactor accident in Japan in 2011, the “fallout” from this accident has continued to pore radioactive material into the environment.   If a meltdown were to occur in any nuclear reactor, the resulting accident could kill and injure tens of thousands of people and as it did in Chernobyl and leave large regions uninhabitable.

To date the problem of what to do with radioactive wastes has not yet been solved.
