Celebrating and supporting local farming and the farmers of the Hudson Valley. Sponsored by Rondout Valley Growers, the town of Marbletown, and SUNY Ulster.
The 2013 State of the Farm Summit will focus on the essential role of family farms and small-scale agriculture in our communities and region. The event will feature local farmers and keynote speaker Congressman Chris Gibson addressing the challenges and rewards of growing on the land in the 21st century.
What role will we play in feeding 9 billion people by 2015? And, more importantly, how can we do it in a way that will enable our farms and our farmland to remain viable producers of abundant, fresh, and healthful food. Congressman Chris Gibson offers and engaging and compelling big-picture look at the future of food in the state of New York and the farmer’s role in its production; a question-and-answer session will follow.
