Now, more than ever, our food choices matter.

Catskill Mountainkeeper is helping power the movement for strong local food systems through our Farming & Food program, which supports struggling local farms and dairies, enhances access to local food in Sullivan County through the Liberty Farmers Market, and creates connections between people and the land through our school garden projects

The system most of us rely upon for our everyday staples like bread, milk, eggs, and meat, is largely run by corporate interests and food processors--but it doesn’t have to be this way.

Food is a basic need; where it comes from, and how it gets to our kitchen has the life-changing power to either nourish us and our natural environment, or contribute to chronic disease and poison our water.

The choice is ours.

Mountainkeeper is hosting two Zoom webinars focused on these issues. We’d love to have you join these important conversations and hope you can be there for one or both sessions.

June 1st, 7 - 8:30pm - Covid-19 Plows The Way: A Conversation On Transforming Our Food System

First, on June 1st from 7-8:30pm we will host a Zoom panel of expert farmers and food advocates to discuss the state of our current national food system, the possibilities for change, and the opportunities for individuals to act. This webinar will explore the current inequities in our food system, issues surrounding farmworkers rightsorganic vs. conventional agriculture, and how improved soil health can help mitigate climate change. We will discuss the possibilities for substantial transformation of how food gets from the fields across the US to our plates and forks. Register now to join!
