Catskill Mountainkeeper ‘s office at 34 Tinker Street in Woodstock, NY extends Mountainkeeper’s mission to the High Peaks area of the Catskills.  We focus on the major initiatives of Catskill Mountainkeeper including, the fight to prevent unsafe hydraulic fracturing, “fracking,” in our region, education about the severe health effects of fracking, and the protection of communities through home rule.

We are particularly focused on:

Countering large scale development and offering options for sustainable economic development.

Working on programs to move communities toward being Carbon Neutral.

Fostering programs that encourage Going Green, Zero Waste and Green Schools and promoting options that Save Energy.

We support a Trailkeeper program to maintain trails and encourage the outdoor experience.

The goal of all of these programs is to protect our environment and offer High Peaks residents a more sustainable and satisfying way of life.
