Renowned expert Stephen J. Small, J.D., LL.M will talk about the options available to keep cherished lands in the family, while minimizing estate taxes. Before going into private practice, Steve was an attorney-advisor in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C., where he wrote the federal income tax regulations on conservation easements. Each attendee will receive a copy of “Preserving Family Lands” by Stephen Small. Cost for attendees is $10 for members of the Conservancy, $15 for non-members. Registration is required. Space is limited. Reserve your space early to avoid disappointment.

An in-depth program for accountants, attorneys, realtors, appraisers and others interested in learning more will be held on Wednesday May 28 from 8:30 to 12:00 noon at the PPL Lake Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center on Route 6 in Hawley, and on Thursday May 29 from 8:30 to 12:00noon at the Carrus Institute in the Center for Discovery in Harris, NY. Cost for attendees is $50 without credits, $100 with 3.0 CLE, CEU, or CPE credits.
