Free Renewable Energy Workshop

$150 million in NYSERDA Grants Currently Available

Case Studies of Renewable Energy Systems,

       Technology Considerations, Incentives & Financing

We are pleased to offer a workshop on solar photovoltaic energy (PV) and solar thermal (hot water) for commercial, industrial and agricultural enterprises. Legislation enacted in New York State is providing funding through NYSERDA to help the state reach a goal of doubling renewable energy generation by 2015.  Organizations include:

Sullivan Alliance for Sustainable Development (SASD) is a not-for-profit 501 C-3 corporation whose goal is to develop sustainable economic projects for the Sullivan County region through the synergies of green building technologies, energy conversation, energy efficiency and renewable energy systems.  You will learn how they have helped fund projects, plus there will be multiple local speakers discussing solar PV and solar thermal technology who have installed systems in both residential and commercial sites.  In addition, Sullivan County Farm Network will be highlighting their renewable endeavors.  A tour of Cornell Cooperative Extension will be available for you to gain insight as to how they have met their sustainable energy initiatives.

Who Should Attend: This workshop benefits management and business owners who are responsible for investigating and managing electrical energy systems. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about available applications, costs and cash flow.  Prices for turn-key solar electric systems have fallen 50% in the last 3 years.

The Financial Session will focus on available incentives & options:

  1. Federal Incentives – provide 30% of project costs
  2. NYSERDA grants – provide up to 40% of project costs
  3. Bonus Depreciation (50% first year) and Financing Options
  4. Sullivan Alliance for Sustainable Development (SASD) Options

The Technology will focus on best practices and case studies for:

  1. Energy Conservation and Efficiency
  2. Solar Electric (Photovoltaic Systems)
  3. Solar Hot Water (Thermal Systems)
