April 5, 2012: Statewide Call Day to Chair of the Environmental Conservation Committee

April 5, 2012 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

April 5, 2012: Statewide Call Day to Chair of the Environmental Conservation Committee:  BAN FRACKING NOW!
Western New York is the home of Senate Environmental Conservation Committee Chair– Senator Grisanti. Senate bill 4220, which has been stalled in his committee, can protect the entire state from fracking by banning drilling and wastewater treatment. The senator must hear from New Yorker’s that it’s his duty, as chair of the Environmental Conservation Committee, to protect our environment and not allow drilling in the state. Fracking is posed to happen in New York as soon as this summer if we don’t stop it!

On the April 5th call-in day New York residents must show their united strength and demand that Senator Grisanti cosponsor the ban bill and move it up for a vote! Can you take a moment to call? The call is easy to make and will help build momentum for a ban on fracking across the state. It only takes a few minutes and makes a big difference. Here’s how:

On Thursday, April 5th, between 9am and 5pm, call the senator and tell him to BAN fracking now!

Senator Grisanti (head of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee) at 877-796-1949

Tell them your name and where you’re from, and then simply tell them that they must protect New Yorkers by co-sponsoring bill 4220, a ban on fracking.

Sample script for Grisanti: “Hi, My name is ______ and I live in (city, state). I believe it’s Senator Grisanti’s duty, as head of the Environmental Conservation Committee, to protect New York’s land and people by banning fracking through cosponsorship of bill 4220. Thank you for your time today.”

(Please forward this on and help spread the word! Flier is attached for printing and disbursement to your friends, family, and coworkers.)
