Valentines Weekend Jewelry Sale and Brunch and Fundraiser
Farmers Museum To Show 'Food Inc'
Otsego 2000 has joined forces with The Farmers’ Museum to screen the critically acclaimed film “Food, Inc.,” with special appearances by representatives from local food and agricultural organizations. The film will be shown in the Fenimore Art Museum Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20th.
Winter Festival at Walton Fairground
This winter brings a new event to Delaware County. The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is co-hosting a Winter Festival at the Walton Fairgrounds. Towns are being invited to compete in a snow sculpture contest so come out and cheer for your hometown. The event will also feature an ice carving competition hosted by SUNY Delhi - this is a practice session for the National Ice Carving Competition sponsored by NICA ( National Ice Carving Association). The Hamden Hill Ridge Riders will be hosting snowmobile drag races. More activities will be added as this event developes. Stay tuned to the Chambers website for more details. January 25th Rally/Lobby Day in Albany to Protect the Environment from Natural Gas Drilling
Worried about the dangers of natural gas drilling in New York? If so, join us in Albany on Monday, January 25, 2010, to tell Governor Paterson and other state leaders to delay the rush to drill in the Catskills, Central New York and Southern Tier. This is your chance to join concerned citizens from across New York to rally at the Capitol. Once you're in the Capitol, you can share your concerns about natural gas drilling with legislators and urge them to protect New York's air, land and water.

Winter Ice Harvest at Hanford Mills Museum
Come help the Museum fill the Ice House. Try your hand at cutting ice or watch the draft horse team delivering ice on our bobsled. Warm up with great soups, watch historic videos of past ice harvests, see a horse-drawn ice plow at work, and ride on a horse-drawn wagon. Besides soup, there will also be fresh roasted peanuts for sale. This event is a great way to beat cabin fever. Get out in the fresh air, dress warm and plan to spend the whole day. You'll have fun!
