Tues-Wed May 27 and 28 An Introduction to Preserving Family Lands 5:30 – 8:00 PM

Renowned expert Stephen J. Small, J.D., LL.M will talk about the options available to keep cherished lands in the family, while minimizing estate taxes. Before going into private practice, Steve was an attorney-advisor in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C., where he wrote the federal income tax regulations on conservation easements. Each attendee will receive a copy of “Preserving Family Lands” by Stephen Small. Cost for attendees is $10 for members of the Conservancy, $15 for non-members. Registration is required. Space is limited. Reserve your space early to avoid disappointment.

Enjoy a local horse drawn carriage ride or stroll the historic village by foot. Docents will lead walking tours. Open-air markets offering local wares and eateries will offer period approprate food. The Roxbury Nine vintage baseball team will take to the field in Kirkside Park complete with entertainment by the Roxbury Brass. Return train at 4pm.
